An illustration of an original old wind-mill and commercial wind turbines drawn to scale by the late John Edwards, architect. For those who equate wind turbines with windmills, click on the image.
John presented this to Country Guardian with his permission for it to be used by anyone who campaigns against the proliferation of commercial wind turbines.
For those who think they're just like windmills really...

Below are some illustrations that demonstrate the size of the proposals in the Lower Winterborne and Muston Down areas.

Please take a look at our page on Swaffham Power Station to get an idea of the size of the Wind Turbines in the proposed Lower Winterborne and Muston Down Wind Power Stations.

A higher resolution 'pdf' version of the graphic at the top of the page can be obtained by clicking on the banner image (58kB).

The 1st image is our DART poster, click on this for an A4 version. The 3rd image is of a Wind Turbine Hub.

Those really are people standing on a Turbine Hub. They really are that big. Now imagine that on a 300 foot pole.

The next 2 images are of a fallen turbine, click on the images for a larger scale picture. More fallen turbines here.

The following picture is another DART poster and the last image is Winterborne Kingston Church with a 105M Wind Turbine to scale. Click on these for an A4 Adobe Acrobat version.

The next image compares (to scale) a Jumbo Jet with 100M Turbines. That's slightly smaller than our proposed machines - so still bigger than the Jumbo. Click on the image for a higher resolution version.

Many thanks to VAITS (Villagers Against Inappropriate Turbine Sitings) for permission to use this image.

This gives a real idea of the size of the Turbines in the 2 proposed developments. All 32 of them.
